Ironworkers Local 489, Scranton, PA erected the second largest wind farm east of the Mississippi River. The pieces were assembled by members with the use of a 300-ton Manitowoc crane. The windmills stand 329 feet tall including the blades and arrived in eight separate pieces.
The contractor was D.H. Blattner from Avon, Minnesota.
